About
A small group of principals backing select companies that seek to transform the standard of care through minimally invasive and robotic technologies.
Telperion Partners is an investment platform that has been backing medical device companies since 2017.
Our model is intentionally narrow. We invest in private medical device companies across the lifecycle from early clinical stage through commercialization, typically alongside top-tier institutional leads through purpose-built investment vehicles, each aligned to a single company.
We typically commit our own capital alongside investors on each deal.
What we offer that conventional funds do not: clinical depth at the diligence stage, active engagement at the board level, observer or director seats at nearly every portfolio company, and the patience to underwrite outcomes measured in years, not quarters.
clinical conviction
Diligence is led by practicing surgeons, seasoned business executives, and a top legal team. We invest in technologies that benefit from the clinical insight, experience, and professional networks of our principals.
aligned by structure
Principals invest alongside investors in every deal. Our compensation (including carried interest and fees) is fully described in each set of confidential offering documents.
engaged at the board
Board observer rights are held collectively across the principal group, not assigned individually, so portfolio companies benefit from different perspectives at different points in their development. We also hold board director seats at select companies. Our principals attend meetings, weigh in on strategy, and stay close to operations through to exit.
single purpose vehicles
Each company sits inside its own SPV. Investors participate deal by deal, not by fund mandate.
what we bring
Our senior leadership brings deep medical device experience and boardroom insight from active participation at nearly every portfolio company.
We maintain industry relationships that accelerate portfolio company growth.
We place influential physicians and operators on cap tables to help validate and adopt products.
We develop informed views on exit timing and strategic fit, though outcomes are uncertain and depend on clinical, regulatory, market and other factors.
